From a music standpoint it probably would have been the Black Crowes. They did absolutely nothing for me.

From an experience standpoint it was James Taylor at the Anaheim Pond. We had some middle age drunks behind us talking about VD and herpes the whole first set. I finally asked them to stop. Like most drunks they just got worse. My wife and i decided to move seats during the set break. We watched the crew dump beer on our old seats anticipating us to come back. Just a brutal night.

Do you not like the Black Crowes to begin with? What year did you see them?

I'm surprised you and SHD have both mentioned them. I saw them in 2005 (I think), and they were incredible. Chris Robinson belted out every song like it was the last show he'd ever perform. Incredible energy and emotion from him on this particular night. The show was full of lengthy jams, and the whole band was as tight as I've ever heard them. Every band has had horrible shows, but I know the Black Crowes are capable of delivering a great live performance.

I think C. Robinson was sober by 2005. I saw them twice in the 1990's and both performances were sub-par. I wanted them to be good, but they were not. They were feuding brothers on dope not connecting with the songs.

It's funny. My brother and i just had a conversation about the Crowes and he said the same thing I did. As for me...I don't love them but I don't hate them. Was just looking to hear some good music. I just knew them from the songs that got airplay that I was familiar with and heard the guitar player was very good. Maybe it was just one of those nights but halfway through I was wishing I was in my car heading home.

Well what year did you seem 'em? Must have been an off-night, or maybe the music just doesn't grab you, or a combination of both. They were tight as hell and played their hearts out when I saw them.

Anybody see them with Jimmy Page? I did and had a blast.

I thought they did a respectable, if not incredible, job on the Zep stuff and the triple guitar onslaught was a blast on some of the Crowes material.

A long way from Mr. Crowes' Garden playing the mellow mushroom...

And due to the Gout, (no beer) I have switched to grain

stink so much.

to include Nazis, tortured animals, and a whole hours worth
of racist fat chick jokes. allonze!

I knew that was you Craven! Your date was a real class act. Ha.

Hope the summer is treating you well. If you are looking for something a bit different try looking up Jimmy Buffett "all Night Long" on you tube. He has been closing his shows with this tune and it really works. Much like Southern Cross it's a cover that fits his band. I figure you are always up for something new....

Oh yes she was. I let the Neurosyphilis eat her brain away.
Her epitaph reads Susan 'Capone' Benjaminsmith. But boy
we did have some great conversations about it (right behind you). Too bad she died before the HPV. THAT could have been another good drunken convo behind someone trying to enjoy a crappy concert. Ahhh, those were the days

yeah man, summer... 2 weeks worth of 90+ days, 70 nights,
and sudden storms that knock out power for days. Good
thing I drink, right? Easy winter ~ brutal summer.
The common denominator? Ask Monte...
At least the Basil, peppers (chili for you folks), toms,
and sqaush are loving it. Too bad my neighbor wont let me
grow the kynd outdoors.

And thank you for bringing smartassedness ( is that a word? ) around. love it: (asshole! :P )
